The Santa Cruz Council on Aging has been a cornerstone of our community for five decades, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults through compassionate advocacy, comprehensive services, and unwavering commitment to dignity and respect.

Our Services

Comprehensive programs designed to support every aspect of senior health

Wellness Programs

Exercise classes, health screenings, and preventive care programs designed to promote healthy aging and active lifestyles.

Social Activities

Daily activities, educational classes, arts and crafts, games, and social events that foster community and combat isolation.

Educational Programs

Workshops on topics like Medicare, financial planning, technology
training, and lifelong learning opportunities

Social Health Services

Comprehensive referrals to community resources including healthcare, housing assistance, legal aid, and mental health support.

Nutrition Programs

Daily nutritious meals prepared by our culinary team, designed to met the dietary needs of seniors with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

Home Delivered Meals

Our meals program delivers hot, nutritious meals directly to homebound seniors, along with friendly wellness checks.

Transportation Services

We provide reliable transportation to medical appointments, and to the center ensuring seniors maintain their independence and mobility.

Health and Wellness

Blood pressure screenings, health education, medication management assistance, and connections to health care providers.

Education, support, and resources through our abuse in later in life

1972

Foundation Established

The Santa Cruz Council on Aging was founded to address the growing needs of older adults in our community.

1980s

Program Expansion

Launched comprehensive nutrition, transportation, and social services programs.

1990s

Building Improvements & New Classes

Updated the facility and added more ways for seniors to learn and connect.

2000s

Health, Wellness & Fitness

Focused on active aging, wellness, and independence through regular exercise programs and activity classes.

2010s

Stronger Community Partnerships

Partnerships with local agencies, nonprofits, and health providers bring legal help and wellness clinics to the Center.

2020s

Innovation, Safety & Technology

A new website, tools for registration, check-in, communication, and virtual activities help serve seniors and families more efficiently.
